Yet to be named

And she looked up just in time
To see it curve around the bend
The vast and serene sea
As she was plunged back into concrete and tree

She had made a choice
Between that which she loved none more than another
It was opportunity cost she knew
Knowing she will long for it
But wait for the next time
Make a choice again

Fully aware it could be either way
Despairing neither
Sure she would catch a glimpse of the other

*** It's a poem which you can interpret in many ways but the choices here are between her love for the sea and her love for reading....a simple choice she makes every morning on her way to work.

Unnamed as yet

She ran as fast as she could
Fleeing from it
Horror masked on her face
Afraid to face it

Was she ready to fight it
Was she ready to accept it
The person it made her
The person it would make her

The faded cobbled stones engulfed her
As she ran from one wall to another
They twisted and folded on her
Threatening to never end

The darkness pressing in
She ran faster
As the voices in her head grew
Crippling her
She ran faster
But the more she ran the more they grew

To stop was impossible
Twas certain death
She cud not afford it once more
But wasn’t this running also death

Cos who she was escaping would never leave her
She could do all she wanted it would stay
Cos no one can escape themselves you see

No one can escape themselves.
